First let's honor the source of the wine - the grapes. Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay  grapes go into making Champagne.

Yes, there is more than one kind of  glass to serve champagne in. Let's  explore the different choices.

Trumpet flutes are narrow in design to hold in the bubbles. The slender style is a mark of elegance.

 This is called a champagne tulip. Notice the curve at the top which holds in the bubbles and its elegant long stem for fingers to hold.

The most common glass is the flute. It also is designed to hold in bubbles.

Finally the coupe, long a favorite of Hollywood, it's open bowl is glamorous, and let's us appreciate the bubbles as they escape.

Chill the wine at 47-50°F. Do not chill glasses as that can spoil the taste.  Serve with cheeses, coldcuts and seafood appetizers. It goes well with fried foods and hot buttered popcorn.
